Blueshift UNLIMITED

The short version: one license, one computer, renewed yearly. Your files are always yours.

This agreement is between you and Blueshift Unlimited LLC, a Washington limited liability company. By buying, installing, or using Blueshift, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.

Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Blueshift on one computer, activated with your license key. Blueshift is licensed to you, not sold.

Getting a new computer? Write to info@blueshiftunlimited.com and we'll reset your activation so you can move your license to it.

You may not copy, resell, rent, share, or redistribute Blueshift or your license key, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows it.

Term & renewal

Your purchase includes a one-year license, starting the day your license key is issued. After that, the license renews at $9.99 per year, which includes updates and support.

If you don't renew, your license ends at the close of its term and Blueshift will stop running. Your FITS files, your Blueshift Archive, and your database stay on your computer and remain yours. Renewing reactivates your license.

Refunds

If Blueshift isn't right for you, request a full refund within 30 days of purchase by writing to info@blueshiftunlimited.com. When the refund is issued, your license key is deactivated.

Your files

Blueshift copies your frames into the Blueshift Archive and leaves your originals in place. Some features change files on purpose: rewriting FITS headers, and deleting frames you choose to cull — but those changes happen on copies of your originals that are placed in the Blueshift Archive. Those changed files are yours to keep and use. You should keep backups of anything you can't afford to lose.

Third-party material

Blueshift includes image-quality algorithms derived from the PixInsight project and reference data from OpenNGC, licensed CC-BY-SA-4.0, and it uses the SIMBAD and VizieR services operated at CDS, Strasbourg. Those components remain under their own licenses; see the About page for full credits.

Warranty & liability

Blueshift is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Blueshift Unlimited LLC is not liable for lost data, lost images, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blueshift Unlimited LLC from any claims arising from your misuse of Blueshift or your breach of this agreement.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. If any part of it can't be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted here.
